For several months I've been playing with story ideas: starting them, stopping them, throwing them out and starting again. I'm normally able to write a complete book in a couple of months, but since spring arrived I haven't completed anything. I'm writing every day, so I know it's not writer's block. It's just that I'm exploring my writing style and the stories I really want to tell.
After tooling around for some time, I've finally found myself, and I've started a project that really excites me. It's a contemporary paranormal. I have a strong desire to write another full-length medieval, but I've yet to find an idea that burns to be told. My plan is to finish this manuscript in time to enter the Golden Heart, so I've got my work cut out for me. Unless I'm prepared to have it couriered to Dallas to meet the deadline in early December, I've got to wrap it up in mid-November. Just under three months.
With my dear daughter back in school in September, I should be able to write aggressively. There's just that little issue about needing to work for a living, LOL.
