I SOLD!

August 09, 2008
News
I know. I keep pinching myself to make sure it's true. Yesterday around noon, I sold my Golden Heart winning manuscript, Soul Provider, to NAL in a three book deal.

Since then, I haven't been able to sit still; every couple of minutes, I jump up squeeing "OMG, I sold a book".

NAL is a fabulous, fabulous house and I can already tell that Kerry Donovan, my new editor, will be a delight to work with. NAL/Signet publishes J.R. Ward's Black Dagger Brotherhood series and Colleen Gleason's Gardella Vampire Chronicles. Talk about being in great company. This is really a dream come true.

To give credit where credit is due, it wasn't me who did the heavy lifting on the contract negotiations. My agent, Laurie McLean of Larsen Pomada, did all the important stuff, and wow, did she do it well. We had several interested editors and she was back and forth with them, while somehow managing to keep me in the loop at the same time. The past couple of days have been a whirlwind, and I'm absolutely thrilled with the outcome.

My first book will be released under the Signet Eclipse imprint in late 2009 or early 2010. {pinch} Yup, it's true.

Incredible!

Wow. I got a call about a half hour ago from San Francisco, where the RWA National conference is wrapping up. It was my pal, Sylvia Day--who was up for a RITA for her wonderful novella Mischief and the Marquess--calling to tell me my manuscript, Soul Provider, won the Golden Heart for Best Paranormal Romance! How absolutely cool is that? It's the middle of the night here, and I'm dancing. Wow.

Great News

I'm thrilled to announce that I now have an agent--Laurie McLean of the Larsen-Pomada Literary Agency. After reading two of my manuscripts, including my 2008 Golden Heart finalist, Soul Provider, Laurie made an offer to represent me, which I accepted! She's excited about my writing and my prospects, which is always a nice thing to hear, LOL. Now, I'm hard at work doing some minor revisions before we send the book out to editors. How cool is that?

Golden Heart® Finalist

March 26, 2008
News
Wow! I did it. I finaled in the RWA's Golden Heart contest for the second time. My latest manuscript, Soul Provider, is a finalist in the Paranormal category.

In some ways, this second final means more than the first. I was still fairly new to writing in 2005, and my craft knowledge wasn't what it is today. I've put a lot of effort into improving my writing since then. Ah, heck, I guess what I'm really saying is that I'm happy the first time wasn't a fluke. smile

Congrats to all the other GH finalists, and a very special WooHoo to my friend, Sylvia Day, who has finaled in the RITAs for the second straight year, this time with her fantastic novella, Mischief and the Marquess.
