Digging Out

March 10, 2008
Random Thoughts
We were hit with yet another big snowstorm this weekend--I've lost track of how many that makes it. We've got our eyes on the all-time inches fallen record, and it's looking quite likely that we'll break it this year. We often get twenty percent of our annual snowfall between now and the end of winter.

Sigh.

I live in a city that takes snow in stride and has more snow removal equipment than road paving equipment, but the city is falling behind. The sidewalks where I walk the dog are still covered this morning after the one-two punch the weather delivered Friday night and again on Saturday. That's unusual. I have a ski suit and heavy-duty arctic boots I wear to wade through the drifts, but the older folks and people with less winter attire must be struggling.

On a positive note, we get lots of sunshine between storms. It's so bright out, I need my sunglasses to go anywhere.
