Doing A Little Reading

I have several books on my To Be Read pile that I've been meaning to get to, and I finally took the plunge after reading the results of the AAR Annual Reader poll. I bought Jo Goodman's If His Kiss Is Wicked back at the beginning of the year because of the great reviews it got on a couple of review sites I haunt. The fact that it tied for first place in the poll goaded me into finally cracking the spine. I've never read Jo Goodman before, but I must say, that I'll happily buy another of her books. I read this one in one sitting, savoring every bit of the terrifically witty dialog.

I also recently read, at my teenage daughter's pleading request, all three of Stephenie Meyer's Twilight series. Excellent books, with great characters and a nice twist on the vampire mythology. Sweet, of course, because they are aimed at the YA market, but romantic just the same. There was an added bonus--the opportunity to bond over literary characters with my daughter. I can't even quantify the value of that!
