Wow, I can't believe I haven't posted here since the first of January. Busy!
I'm writing, of course, and working hard on my new commitment to be more disciplined with my housework. Yes, I said housework. Probably my least favorite thing to do in the world, but sadly necessary. I've made up a schedule of chores due each day, and I'm sticking to it. Today was clean the bathrooms day. Yeah, real fun. But I figured if I was going to insist on regular chores from my daughter, I should be prepared to ante up.
On the positive side, one of the gifts I gave my daughter for Christmas was archery lessons, and I signed up too! Last night was our first lesson. I learned plenty about archery safety, recurve bows and aluminum arrows, and proper stance. I did not, however, learn the proper way to release the arrow, and I ended up with a big bruise on my forearm (despite the arm band I was given to wear). The instructor promised to teach how to avoid that injury next lesson. I'll be listening attentively, LOL. Despite the whack on my arm, I enjoyed the lesson. I've always wanted to learn the sport--not surprising given my interest in the medieval era--and my daughter shares my enthusiasm, so we'll likely end up doing both sets of beginner lessons. It'll provide an nice note of authenticity for my next historical.
