The Price of Canadian Books

April 16, 2008
What I'm Reading
It took a while, but I'm finally starting to see the higher value of the Canadian dollar reflected in the prices of books sold here. I bought two books in the last two weeks--Sherry Thomas' Private Arrangements and Jordan Dane's No One Heard Her Scream--and each had dramatically different prices. Thomas's book from Bantam unfortunately came with an older sticker of $9.99 CDN, but I'm happy to report that Dane's book from Avon cost only $7.99 CDN. Yay! A savings of $2.00. When you buy as many books as I do in a year, that savings can really add up.
